Department for Microbiologic Analyses of Food, Water and Other Environmental Samples Maribor got the FDA approval for Microbiological Quality Control of medicines for US market. Inspection based on Good Manufacturing Practice requirements and guidelines was performed from 18th to 22nd of January 2016. The FDA Inspector didn't find any nonconformities.

On the 9^th February the Official Medicines Control Laboratory was transferred under the wing of the National Laboratory of Health, Environment and Food.

Awarding of Zois prises and awards, the Ambassador of Science and Puch awards took place on 21 November 2014 at the Brdo Congress Centre, being the highest national awards for achievement in the field of science. Our colleague prof. Dr. Maja Rupnik received the Zois Award for important scientific achievements in microbiology.
